about aspen brownie works
I like seeing the joy my brownies bring to people. It's probably the reason I've been baking them for my family and friends just about every day since graduating culinary school. And no doubt the reason why I started Cloud Nine Brownies, the company that has become Aspen Brownie Works.
I work with my husband, Jim, in our sunny, mountainside kitchen. It smells wonderful, as you might expect, and is home to our uncomplicated business premise: combine simple, quality ingredients and create extraordinary things. We start with Ghirardelli Chocolate, real creamery butter and farm fresh eggs and end with rich, fudgy brownies we believe are melt-in-your-mouth perfect.
In our own small way, our company helps make the world a better place. A portion of our sales support local non-profits like Roaring Fork Kids' pre-school and the Aspen Buddy Program; and international non-profits through the Acumen Fund. The Aspen Philanthropist story Good Company: A Higher Purpose features our charitable program and reminds us that it's not just about the brownies.
If you're visiting Aspen, Colorado come by and see us. Winter months we're usually in the kitchen — how good is a hot brownie before or after your ski day — baking up a storm. Summer months we're usually out and about at one of the local farmers' markets. Either place, I get to see the joy.
